- Definition
- An unstructured sleeveless coat that falls loosely around the neck and over the shoulders. It covers the arms to at least the elbow but may extend to the floor, is typically single-breasted and usually fastens only at the neck. Sometimes includes a hood and arm slits. Worn by men and women over other clothes as protection from the elements.
