Definition
A weapon consisting of a very long rifled or smooth-bore barrel, fitted with a wood stock, a flint or percussion lock, a trigger and a trigger guard, usually equipped with a pivot or sometimes mounted on a stand, and stamped with identification and inspection marks. Mounted into sockets along the walls of fortifications, used to fire lead bullets.
