Definition
A fixture usually made of porcelain comprising a cistern, a tank, a lid, a bowl, a toilet seat, and a cover. The cistern, filled with water and connected to a municipal sewage system or a septic tank, generally houses a flushing mechanism, such as a ball-float, a toilet flush chain, or a flush/trip handle. Used as a receptacle in which to urinate and defecate.
