Definition
A covering made of cotton, wool, hemp, silk, or synthetics that are woven, crocheted, knitted, felted, pieced, or braided. It is usually rectangular in shape, but may also be round, oval, or octagonal. The edges may be hemmed, bound, overcast, fringed, or left as selvages. It is designed to cover a portion of the floor. Used to protect and decorate the floor.
