Definition
An instrument consisting of a conical brass bore, coiled once or twice, in a helicon-shape, without valves; equipped with a cup-shaped mouthpiece and a tuning gliding mechanism at one end and a medium-sized, slightly flared bell at the other end. Used to produce a sound via sympathetic vibration of the air in the mouthpiece.
