Definition
A metal or wood device consisting of two thin, slightly diverging arms that are pivoted together or joined by a spring mechanism. It may rest on a table or on the floor, or be affixed to a wall. Used to hold a burning splint or a piece of resinous wood for illuminating dark areas.
