- A fastener of varying size and shape, generally made of precious metal or other materials, usually decorated with motifs, jewels, dangling pendants, and with a hinged pin and clasp at the back to secure it to a garment. It sometimes also has a hook or a ring at the top for hanging from a chain as a pendant. Used as an adornment for garments or hats.
