Definition
Eyeglasses consisting of two round lenses set in wide rims, often of metal; equipped with a safety band, often of elastic, that attaches to the ends of the temples and wraps around the head. Worn to protect the eyes when performing some work or activities and to protect the eyes from the elements, chemicals, and other irritants.
