Definition
A cylindrical wooden receptacle consisting of curved staves bound at each end by wooden or metal hoops to a pair of disk-shaped heads; equipped with a bung hole and bung set in the middle of a stave and a tap at the head end. Used to contain alcoholic liquids, particularly spirits.
