Definition
A device consisting of numerous horizontal slats that are usually made of wood, plastic, light metal, stiffened paper, or fabric, which are suspended, one above the other, on vertical tapes or cords. It may be raised or lowered as a unit or the slats can be set simultaneously at one of several angles. Used to regulate the amount of light that enters a room. Also used to assure the privacy of dwelling occupants.
