Definition
A bonnet or cap that ties under the chin. It may include lappets and a stiff structure, such as wire, under the various fabrics and trimmings which form the head covering, according to the social condition or the fashion period. Worn by women, used to cover the head and hair while indoors as well as for propriety. It is also used as a fashion accessory.
